Let's try (´▽`*)ノ
Part1
1. Are you usually on time?
No, basically I am not on time. Especially, when I leave home. I am not good at expecting how long I need to prepare. To make matters worse, I often calculate less than it will take actually. So, I have tried various kinds of measures such as getting my clock five minutes before and, thinking of the departure time of a train five minutes earlier. For example, when I plan to get on a train at two, I try to think that I get on a train at five minutes to two. They sometimes work well, but sometimes fail. However, I usually make it on a train because I run to the station. I guess it is the reason why I cannot leave home on time. I know that I can make it even if I leave home late. All I have to do is running to the station to get on it by departure. So, I often do that unconsciously.
2. Can you follow the deadline?
Yes, I usually finish doing something by a deadline though just before a deadline. I cannot do something quickly, so I need time more than others. Besides, I tend to do it as completely as possible. So, I take more time to finish something than others. I tend to hurry to make it to a due date because of those facts.
3. Are you fond of making memos or a “to-do “list?
Yes, I follow a kind of my “to-do” list. I have my own schedule. So, I know what I should do and finish the tasks every day as when I was a computer engineer. I like finishing a task because I can feel a sense of achievement or satisfaction.
4. What are the things that include your daily schedule?
The things that include my daily schedule are taking a mock listening exam for TOEIC and taking an online English lesson. Taking a mock listening exam is to improve my listening skill and get a high score on that test. Taking an online English lesson is to improve my speaking and writing skill. I often watch the Walking Dead with English subtitles though it doesn’t matter to my schedule. However, I believe it would help me improve my reading and listening skills.
5. Have you experience forgetting something like an important thing to do?
Yes, I often make a mistake like that. In particular, I prone to misunderstand a date or a time of an appointment. I have some experiences that I went to a restaurant the day before the real appointment with my sister or friends. Unfortunately, it seems that I got used to the situation because I don’t get upset whenever it happens to me.
Part2
Describe your own way of managing your time
I manage my time by updating an Excel file that I use as a schedule. I write my tasks with the times every three months. Then I write a time when I did a task to a blank cell of a certain task every day. On the last of the day, I filled up “NG” with empty cells. It is my routine. I can figure out which task I did, and I didn’t. It helps me look back a day or a month. Also, I can adjust my schedule depending on the previous records. I remove a task that I didn’t often since I recognize it is not important for me without thinking. I believe I know what I should, so I often change my daily schedule flexibly. In addition to that, I use a schedule of my cell phone. I manage the things that are not related to my routine such as an appointment with my friends and how many days I am going to stay in the hotel with them. Speaking of using an Excel file, it is essential for me to get motivated. I feel satisfaction when I complete my all tasks, and it gives me the power to keep them. Retracing the past is also a good aspect of that. It is a great opportunity to change my life better.
Part3
1. Do you think if you are a good manager of your time?
No, I never think so. Firstly, I cannot control the time when I get up. I change my schedule flexibly as I mentioned earlier. In other words, I cannot follow my schedule firmly. I have been able to live freely, but I should get strict with myself to grow up more effectively. I would try to do that next year.
2. In your culture, do you think it is acceptable to arrive a little late/late?
No, it is recognized as rude. In particular, in the business scene. Most “proper” Japanese people prone to get to a meeting place at least before five minutes. Public transportation is also strict on time. So, I sometimes get confused when I travel abroad. However, I assume I suit other countries more than Japan.
3. There is a proverb that says, "Manage your time or else your time will manage you." What can you say about this?
I agree with this. We have only twenty-four hours in a day. We easily waste time if we don’t stick to what we should do the day. I believe we can change ourselves in a year if we make effort to achieve our goal. It depends on how we spend time, spend a day, spend a month, and spend a year. We can change our lives if we can manage our time, but we will decline for sure if we cannot do that.
